Latest Updates from Our Project:

Digital Files Have Been Delivered!
8 months ago – Tue, Jan 30, 2024 at 05:35:03 PM

Dear #TeamTrope,

Thank you for being so supportive of Trope Thesaurus Fantasy and Science Fiction!

This was my biggest project yet; there is much to say about tropes and building stories in these two genres. I hope that you find this helpful in your work as you develop your own stories!

Digital downloads have been emailed to you via BackerKit!!!

If you didn't receive the email, you can request access to your surveys from this page here: https://trope-thesaurus-fantasy-and-science-fiction.backerkit.com/
This will email you a link to your survey, and you can download it from there.

Things to Note:

The digital book is in a generic format, so it may be converted to whatever format you use, including Amazon.

The codes for the two Zoom workshops are included if you pledged at those levels.

If you pledged at the $60 level and above thank-you rewards are there for you too:

1). The free book funnel app has an audiobook copy of The Trope Thesaurus waiting under your login info.

2). There are 6 new short videos on my YouTube channel @TropeTalk about tropes in fantasy and science fiction that you can access with the link I shared in your rewards.

What’s Next?

Except for 1:1 consultations and manuscript reviews, all other digital info, such as class Zoom links for the 2 upcoming classes, have been delivered to those backers.

I will be placing the print book orders next Monday February 5th! I'll post again when I have more information about domestic shipping.

Thank you again for your support!

Class Dates & Progress Report
8 months ago – Wed, Jan 10, 2024 at 05:07:47 AM

Dear TeamTrope,

Happy New Year! I'm sending you all good wishes for your writing in 2024.

Good News: Trope Thesaurus  Fantasy and Science Fiction is with the copy editors! This book has turned out to be my biggest Trope book yet and I still have more to say. But it's coming your way soon and full of storytelling goodness.

Project Progress Notes:

I plan to send you all digital items simultaneously on February 1 (ebooks, vids, PDFs, and audiobook links).

If you haven't returned your survey (94% did-thank you!) I'll be sending you another one.

I'll begin shipping physical copies domestically to those backers in early February. Currently, I'm only doing US shipping due to logistics/cost. I'll be putting the orders in for the books in the next week and will update you when I have more info.

CLASS DATES:

Goal, Motivation, and Conflict Class will be on Sunday, February 18th, at 12pm EST via Zoom, which will be recorded to view later.

Mothers in Fantasy and Science Fiction Class will be on Saturday, March 9th at 12 EST via Zoom, which will be recorded to view later.

I will send links out for the classes in February.

After the materials are sent out in February, I'll contact consult and manuscript review backers to check-in.

Finally, books, courses, and services are still available if you need more Trope Thesaurus Fantasy and Science Fiction in your life!

Thank you again for all your support for this project!

10 months ago – Tue, Dec 05, 2023 at 06:32:00 AM

Hi TeamTrope,

Surveys just went out from Backerkit! The surveys are important so that I can deliver the right goods to the right place for you. Please lmk if you have any questions.

Trope Thesaurus Fantasy and Science FIction continues moving around between me and several editors but I'm still on track for a late January delivery for all the materials at once.

After the New Year, I'll assign dates for the two classes (with zoom recordings) but I'm thinking early February 2024. Plus I'll follow up with 1:1 and manuscript pledges.

Thanks again for your support for this project!

Surveys will be going out soon, so keep an eye out! These are important because the updated info will get your rewards in the right place. And I'll be giving you detailed info in the future on how to access your rewards.

I'm working away on completing the content, and it will be coming your way by February 1st, 2024 as promised. I will send you updates along the way too!

20Books Conference + Dita Las Vegas Show= Amazing

Finishing Up the Campaign in Vegas, Baby!
10 months ago – Wed, Nov 08, 2023 at 06:17:55 AM

Dear #TeamTrope,

I'm watching the sun rise in Vegas from Horseshoe Food Cout at 20Books! Being a lark, this is my best work time.

Just a few days to go in the Trope Thesaurus Fantasy and Science Fiction campaign! I appreciate your support! We're at 423 backers and almost 13k!

A few more days to pledge for books, classes, 1:1 time with me, and manuscript evaluation, go ahead keep me extra busy in 2024!

Don't forget if we get to 500 backers or 15k, everyone pledging at the $60 level will get the professional audiobook copy of Trope Thesaurus (plus the exclusive vids, ebooks (or print if in the US) and  GMC Trope class.

I'm enjoying visiting with many other authors and talking shop of the fantasy and science fiction variety at the conference. Gimme all the story structure, genre expectations, and tropes questions.

BTW, check out my guest post on Russell Nohelty's Author Stack about tropes and Fourth Wing, the Rebecca Yarros fantasy sensation!

Thursday night, I'll be attending the new Dita Von Tease Burlesque show with some fellow author friends. I love burlesque because it's all about the tease--twisting audience expectations to deliver a fresh take. Sounds like our work with tropes, right?

Thanks again for your support!
